ઓપરેશન થંડરબોલ્ટ ભાગ - 5 (ऑपरेशन थंडरबोल्ट भाग - ५ / Operation Thunderbolt Part - 5.)

🔜 આ સાથે જ શરૂ થયું વિશ્વના ઈતિહાસમાં ક્યારેય પણ બન્યું ન હોય કે બનવાનું ન હોય, જોયું ન હોય કે ભવિષ્યમાં ક્યારેય જોવામાં આવે એમ ન હોય તેવું વિશ્વના ઈતિહાસનું સૌથી દબંગ, અદ્વિતીય, અપ્રતિમ, અસામાન્ય, દિલધડક, બેજોડ, સનસનાટી ભર્યું, અતુલનીય અને અકલ્પનિય આશ્ચર્ય સાથે આઘાત પમાડનારું એડવેન્ચર એટલે કે ઓપરેશન થંડરબોલ્ટ.

🔜 આ દુશ્મન દેશનું વિમાન હતું એ બાબત અંધારામાં તો કોઈને ખબર જ ન પડી કારણ કે પેસેન્જર વિમાનનો કલર કરી દીધો હતો. વિમાન ઉતર્યા બાદ તરત જ દોરોન અને તાલી યુનિટના કમાન્ડોએ પોતાની સ્થિતિ સંભાળી લીધી. વિમાન સ્થિર થયા બાદ મર્સિડીઝ બેંઝ અને લેન્ડરોવર્સનો કાફલો ગાડીમાંથી ઉતર્યો અને ઝડપથી આગળ ચાલવા લાગ્યો. ત્રણેય ગાડીએ રન-વેથી જૂની ટર્મિનલ બિલ્ડીંગ તરફ આગળ વધવાનું શરૂ કરી દીધું કે જ્યાં આ બંધકોને રખાયા હતા. મર્સિડીઝમાં ઈદી અમીનના બોડી જેવા દેખાતા સિયરેટ મટકલ ફોર્સના નવા જ બનેલા કમાન્ડર યોનાથન નેતાન્યાહુ, મૂકી બેત્ઝર, જિયોરા ઝુસમેન તેમજ બીજા કેટલાક કમાન્ડો છુપાયેલા હતા. અહીંયા ઈઝરાયેલી સૈનિકોની એ ભૂલ હતી કે ઈદી અમીને થોડાક સમય પહેલા જ બ્લેક મર્સિડીઝને બદલે સફેદ મર્સિડીઝ વાપરવાનું ચાલુ કર્યું હતું જે તેમને ખબર ન હતી. ત્યાં એરપોર્ટ પર રહેલા સૈનિકો પણ મૂંઝવણમાં પડી ગયા કે ગાડી ઈદીની તો છે જ નહીં પરંતુ કદાચ તે ગાડીમાં કોઈ બીજા અધિકારીઓ આવ્યા હશે. પરંતુ ગાડી જુદી દિશામાં કેમ જાય છે? ગાડી જૂની ટર્મિનલ બિલ્ડીંગથી માત્ર ૧૦૦ મીટર દૂર હતી ત્યારે જ યુગાન્ડન આર્મીના બે સૈનિકો દોડતા દોડતા આ ગાડીની સામે આવીને ઉભા રહી ગયા. એક સૈનિક તો તરત જ પાછો ભાગી ગયો પરંતુ બીજ સૈનિકે તરત જ પોતાનું શસ્ત્ર ગાડીની સામે તાકી દીધું. જ્યારે આ સૈનિકે પોતાનું શસ્ત્ર નીચે ન કર્યું ત્યારે યોનાથન અને જિયોરાએ તરત જ પોતાની હેન્ડગન કે જેના પર સાયલેન્સર લાગેલું હતું તેના વડે અને ત્યારબાદ એ.કે. ૪૭ વડે તેને વીંધી નાખ્યો.

🔜 હવે ગાડીઓ જૂની ટર્મિનલ બિલ્ડીંગથી માત્ર ૫૦ મીટર દૂર જઈને થોભી જાય છે. સિયરેટ મટકલના યોદ્ધાઓ વીજળીવેગે ગાડીમાંથી બહાર નીકળીને બિલ્ડીંગ તરફ ભાગવાનું શરૂ કરી દે છે. ત્યાં જ વચ્ચે તેમનો રસ્તો રોકીને ઉભેલા એક યુગાન્ડન સૈનિકને પોતાની ગોળીથી ઢેર કરી દે છે. મુખ્ય દરવાજો બંધ હતો અને તેને તોડવાની રાહ જોયા વગર જ યોનાથન નેતાન્યાહુ, મૂકી બેત્ઝર અને તેના સાથી સૈનિકો બીજા દરવાજે પહોંચ્યા. જબરદસ્ત વિશાળ હોલમાં મોટાભાગના બંધકો સુતા હતા. ત્યાં બહાર એક હાઈજેકર ઉભો હતો. તે આવા રાઈફલોના અવાજને કારણે બહાર આવ્યો હતો. સામે સૈનિકો આવતા તે અંદર ભાગી ગયો. તેણે પોતાના સાથી મિત્રને કીધું કે યુગાન્ડાના સૈનિકોએ આપણી ઉપર હુમલો કર્યો. ઉત્તેજનામાં એ દરવાજો બંધ કરતા ભૂલી ગયો. નેતાન્યાહુનો આદેશ માની સૈનિકો ટર્મિનલ્સમાં ઘુસ્યા ત્યાં વિશાળ લોન્જમાં બધું સુમસામ હતું. ત્યાં આગળ બીજો દરવાજો થોડોક ખુલ્લો હતો તેની તરફ નેતાન્યાહુએ ઈશારો કર્યો. ત્યાં જતા જ ઈઝરાયેલી મશીનગનો ધાણી ફૂટે તેમ ધણધણવા લાગી. ત્યાં જ બધા પેસેન્જરો સુતેલા હતા.

🔜 ડાબી બાજુ પેલો હાઈજેકર ઉભો હતો તેની પાસે રાઈફલ હોવા છતા તે સૈનિકો દ્વારા કરવામાં આવેલા હુમલાથી ડઘાઈ ગયો હતો. તેને પતાવી દીધો. જીન-જેક્સ-માઈમોની નામનો ૧૯ વર્ષનો મૂળ ફ્રેંચનો પરંતુ ઈઝરાયેલમાં સ્થાયી થયેલો એક પેસેન્જર ત્યાંથી ઓચિંતા સૈનિકોની સામે હુમલો કરવા દોડ્યો, તો મૂકી બેત્ઝર અને તેમના સૈનિકોએ તેને આતંકી સમજીને એના પર ગોળીઓ વરસાવી. પણ એ નિર્દોષ હતો કારણ કે એને એમ હતું કે ઈદીએ એમને મારવા માટે પોતાના સૈનિકોને મોકલ્યા હતા. એટલે એ સામે હુમલો કરવા આવ્યો હતો, પણ હતો એ ઈઝરાયેલી નાગરિક. એ ગોળીબારમાં મૃત્યુ પામ્યો. પછી તરત જ બીજા સૈનિકે પોતાની મૂળ હિબ્રુ ભાષામાં અને અંગ્રેજી ભાષામાં પોતાના પોર્ટેબલ મેગાફોનમાં જાહેરાત કરી કે જમીન પર જ સુઈ જાઓ. તેઓ ઈઝરાયેલી જ હતા. પાસ્કો કોહેન નામનો ૫૨ વર્ષનો બીજો એક પેસેન્જર પણ આ કમાન્ડોની સમજફેર થઈ તેના કારણે પહેલા ઘવાયો હતો અને બાદમાં મૃત્યુ પામ્યો હતો. ત્યાં જ બીજો આતંકી લડવા ઊભો થયો તો ઈઝરાયેલી સૈનિકોએ રાઈફલોથી તેના શરીરના પણ ચુરેચુરા કરી નાખ્યા. ઈદા બોરકોવિચ નામની ૫૩ વર્ષની એક મહિલાનું આ હાઈજેકર્સ દ્વારા મૃત્યુ થયું હતું.

🔜 બાકી રહેલા પાંચમાંથી ત્રણ આતંકીઓને તો બીજા ઈઝરાયેલી કમાન્ડોએ જન્નતમાં રહેલી ૭૨ હુરો પાસે મોકલી આપ્યા હતા. હવે બાકી હતા બે જ આતંકીઓ. એક પેલો નાઝી યુવક અને પેલી યુવતી. એમને શોધવા કેમ? ત્યાં જ મશીનગનો ધણધણવા લાગી. ડાબી અને જમણી તરફના દરવાજેથી તેઓ આવી ચડ્યા હતા. ઉશ્કેરાટ અને ભયના કારણે બન્ને જણ પોતાની એ.કે. ૪૭ ના નાળચા બરાબર તાકી પણ ના શક્યા. ચિત્તા જેવા સ્ફૂર્તિલા કમાન્ડો બીજી તક આપે એવા પણ નહોતા. ડાબી બાજુના દરવાજા પાસે રહેલી યુવતીને અને જમણી બાજુના દરવાજા પાસે રહેલા પેલા નાઝીને ત્યાંને ત્યાં જ ફૂંકી માર્યા. બોસ નેતાન્યાહુનું પહેલું વિમાન ૮૬ સૈનિકો સાથે ઉતર્યા બાદ બાકીના ૩ વિમાનો પણ ૧૧:૦૮ સુધીમાં ઉતરાણ કરી ચુક્યા હતા. એક જે ફેંટમ જેટ વિમાનને રિઝર્વ રાખ્યું હતું તે સિનાઈના ઑફિરે ઉતર્યું હતું. કદાચ પાંચમાંથી કોઈ પણ વિમાનમાં વાંધો આવે તો એ વિમાન વધારામાં રહે. આટલું કર્યા બાદ લેન્ડરોવર્સમાં બેસીને સૈનિકો પોતપોતાના પ્લાન મુજબ નક્કી કરાયેલા સ્થળો તરફ ગાડી હંકારી ગયા. કેટલાકે એરપોર્ટ તરફ નાકાબંધી કરી દીધી કે જેથી ૩૩ કિમી. દૂરના પાટનગર કંપાલામાં એટેકના ખબર પહોંચી ગયા હોય તો એમની એકશન સામે, એમની પહેલા જ એમની કમર ભાંગી નખાય. અમુક સૈનિકો કંટ્રોલ ટાવર પર ચડી ગયા. ઓપરેટરોને ખુણામાં ધકેલી યંત્રસામગ્રીના ફડચા બોલાવી દીધા, ટેલિફોનના વાયરો કાપી નાખ્યા. આ બધું એવું ઝડપી બન્યું કે કોઈને કાંઈ જાણ કરવાનો સમય જ ના બચ્યો.

🔜 એટલામાં જ ત્યાં હાજર કોઈકે એન્ટેબી એરપોર્ટ પરથી વીજ કનેકશન કાપી નાખ્યું અને ઈઝરાયેલી સૈનિકોએ પોતાની સાથે લાવેલા ટ્રાન્સમિટર ચાલુ કરી દીધા. ત્યાં તો બાકીના હવામાં રહેલા હરક્યુલસ વિમાનોએ પણ રન-વે ઉપર ઉતરાણ કરી દીધું જેમાંથી બીજા કેટલાક સૈનિકો પણ બહાર નીકળી ગયા. માત્ર ૧૦ મિનિટ બાદ તરત જ ૧૧ વાગ્યે ને ૧૦ મિનિટે બ્રિગેડિયર જનરલ ડાન શોમરોને એન્ટેબી એરપોર્ટ પરથી જ તેના રેડીયોથી ઈઝરાયેલી પ્રધાનમંત્રીની ઓફીસ ખાતે સંદેશો મોકલાવ્યો કે, ‘Everything is fine. I'll report later.’ (એટલે કે બધું જ બરાબર છે. હું પછીથી અહેવાલ આપીશ.) ૮ મિનિટ પછી શોમરોને ફરીથી રેડિયો પર મેસેજ આપ્યો કે ‘Low tide' એટલે કે બધા જ પ્લેને એરપોર્ટ પર સલામત ઉત્તરાણ કરી દીધું હતું. એટલી વારમાં તો ઈઝરાયેલી યોદ્ધાઓએ ધડબડાટી બોલાવી જ દીધી હતી.

🔜 નેક્સ્ટ! આટલે દૂર ગયા હતા તો પછી વિમાનોની તરસ છીપાવવાનો વારો હતો. એમાંય તેઓ પૂર્વ તૈયારી કરીને જ ગયા હતા. એન્ટેબી એરપોર્ટ પર રહેલું બળતણ સફાચટ કરવાનું જ હતું. તેથી એ લોકો રાક્ષસી ફ્યુલ પમ્પ પણ સાથે લાવ્યા હતા. (એ લોકોનો નિયમ પણ મારી જેવો જ હતો કે મફતનું લેવાનું નહીં ને મળે તો મુકવાનું નહીં.) અજાણ્યો દેશ! ૪૨૦૦ કિમી. દૂર. (કલ્પના તો કરો આપણે આપણા ઘરથી ૧ કિલોમીટર દૂરથી પણ કાંઈ વસ્તુ તફડાવીને નથી લાવી શકતા.) બળતણ પણ ટાર્ગેટ અને એ પણ એરપોર્ટનું જ....છે ને બાકી!! ઓલી કહેવત એટલે જ કદાચ અહીંથી પડી હશે કે, "ઈલાકા ચાહે કિસીકા ભી હો પર ધમાકા તો સિર્ફ હમારા હી હોગા". પરંતુ કર્નલ માતાન વિલ્નાઈ અને પ્રથમ હરક્યુલસ વિમાનના કર્નલ શાનીએ, શોમરોનને સલાહ આપી કે જો ખરેખર જરૂરી ન હોય તો તેઓએ ત્યાંથી નીકળવામાં બને ત્યાં સુધી મોડું નથી કરવું. શોમરોન પણ સહમત થઈ ગયા કે તેઓ વિમાનમાં ફ્યુઅલ નૈરોબી જઈને જ ભરાવશે.

🔜 આ કોલાહલની વચ્ચે એન્ટેબી એરપોર્ટની સુરક્ષામાં વ્યસ્ત યુગાંડાની આર્મીના બાકીના સૈનિકો સંપૂર્ણપણે ડરીને પોતે જે-તે જગ્યાએ ઉભેલા તે જગ્યા છોડીને ભાગી જાય છે. હજી યુગાન્ડાના આશરે ૫૦ જેટલા સૈનિકો આડસમાં રહીને ગોળીબાર કરતા હતા. આ બાજુ ઈઝરાયેલી કમાન્ડો તરફથી પણ ગોળીબાર ચાલુ જ હતો. આવી સ્થિતિમાં પેસેન્જરોને ચોથા વિમાન સુધી પહોંચાડવા કેમ? આ પરિસ્થિતિનું અવલોકન કરવા માટે ટર્મિનલની બહાર ગયેલા નેતાન્યાહુએ સંદેશો મોકલ્યો કે, ‘ચોથા વિમાનને ટર્મિનલ બાજુ લઈ આવો’ ત્યાં જ કંટ્રોલ ટાવરમાં છુપાઈને ગોળીબાર કરતા યુગાંડાના સૈનિકે નેતાન્યાહુની પીઠમાં ગોળી મારી. એ સરદાર મરણતોલ રીતે જમીન પર ઢળી ગયા. આસપાસના ઈઝરાયેલી સૈનિકોએ તે સૈનિકને જોતા જ તે જ્યાં હતો તે કંટ્રોલ ટાવર પર રોકેટ પ્રોપેલ્ડ ગ્રેનેડ નાખીને તેના રામ રમાડી દીધા ને નેતાન્યાહુને ઉપાડી આડસમાં સુવડાવી ડોકટરને બોલાવ્યા. પણ ઘા ખૂબ ગંભીર હતો અને મોટા પ્રમાણમાં લોહી નીકળતું હોવાથી તેમને તાબડતોબ વિમાન સુધી પહોંચાડવામાં આવ્યા.

🔜 બીજી બાજુ ચોથું વિમાન જુના ટર્મિનલ બાજુ આવી ગયું. અંધારામાં જ પેસેન્જરોને કવર કરી વિમાન સુધી લઈ જવામાં આવ્યા. આશ્ચર્ય અને અતિવિશ્વાસથી આનંદિત થઈને આભાર અને કૃતજ્ઞતા વ્યક્ત કરતા ઈઝરાયેલી નાગરિકો સૈનિકોને રડતા રડતા કે પ્રાર્થના કરતા આલિંગન આપવા માંડ્યા અને તરત જ સૈનિકોએ આવેશમાં આવી ગયેલા નાગરિકો પર કાબુ કર્યો. અંધારામાં જ ગણત્રી કરતા ખબર પડી કે કુલ ૧૦૬ ની જગ્યાએ ૧૦૨ જ પેસેન્જર્સ હતા. એમાં ચાર પેસેન્જર્સ ઓછા હતા. એમાં ૭૪ વર્ષની ડોરા બ્લોચ નામની એક વૃદ્ધા પણ ખૂટતી હતી. બીમારીને લીધે તેને કંપાલાની હોસ્પિટલમાં દાખલ થવું પડ્યું હતું. એમના નસીબમાં મોત જ લખેલું હતું કેમ કે ઈદી અમીન તેને મારી નાખવાનું જ ફરમાન છોડવાનો હતો. બીજી બાજુ પેલા સમજફેરથી મરી ગયેલા ૩ મુસાફરોનો સમાવેશ થતો હતો. અંધારામાં જ ઘાયલ થયેલા અને મૃત્યુ પામેલા નાગરિકોને પણ પ્લેનમાં લાવવામાં આવ્યા.

🔜 રાત્રે ૧૧ વાગે ને ૩૨ મિનિટે તેલ અવિવના કંટ્રોલરૂમના રેડિયો પર એક કોડવર્ડ સંભળાય છે કે જેને સાંભળવા માટે બધા જ લોકોના કાન આતુર હતા. તે કોડવર્ડ હતો ‘જેફરસન’. જેનો મતલબ એ હતો કે ગણત્રીની કામગીરી શરૂ થઈ ગઈ હતી. માત્ર થોડીક મિનિટો બાદ જ રેડિયો પર બીજો એક મેસેજ સંભળાયો, ‘Move everything to Galila'. જેનો મતલબ એ હતો કે બધા જ બંધકો હરક્યુલસ વિમાનમાં બેસી ગયા હતા. પેલી મર્સિડીઝ અને લેન્ડરોવર્સ ગાડીઓને પણ વિમાનમાં પાછી ચડાવવામાં આવી. તેમજ બાકીના સૈનિકો પણ આ તોતિંગ વિમાનમાં બેસી ગયા.

🔜 આ બધુ નિપટાવી દીધા પછી સૈનિકો વિમાનમાં ચડે એ પહેલાં જ નક્કી કરેલા પ્લાન મુજબ ઈઝરાયેલ આર્મીના ભૂતપૂર્વ ચીફ ઓફ સ્ટાફના દીકરા ઓમર બાર્લયેવ અને તેમની ટુકડીએ યુગાન્ડાના ૧૧-૧૧ ફાઈટર મિગ ૧૭ અને મિગ ૨૧ વિમાનોનો ટાઈમ બોંબ વડે કચ્ચરઘાણ વાળી દીધો. પછી ચારેય વિમાનો રન-વે પર સડસડાટ દોટ મૂકી ડાયરેકટ આકાશમાં ચડી ગયા.

🔜 પછી રાત્રે ૧૧ વાગે ને ૫૧ મિનિટે ઈઝરાયેલી કંટ્રોલરૂમના રેડિયો પર ફરી એક આખરી મેસેજ સંભળાયો, ‘Mount Carmel'. જેનો મતલબ એ થતો હતો કે બધી જ પ્રક્રિયા પૂર્ણ થઈ ગઈ છે. ઓપરેશન પૂર્ણ થઈ ગયું છે. તે લોકો પાછા જવા માટે નીકળી રહ્યા છે અને પ્લેન પણ જવા માટે ટેકઓફ થઈ ગયા છે. આમ આ અશક્ય સાહસને શક્ય બનાવવાનું કાર્ય પૂરું થયું ફક્ત ૫૩ મિનિટમાં જ!! ઈઝરાયેલી કંટ્રોલરૂમમાં રહેલા ડિફેન્સ મિનિસ્ટર સિમોન પેરેઝ અને પ્રધાનમંત્રી યિત્ઝાક રબીન બંને તરત જ એકબીજાને ગળે મળી ગયા. તમારી જાણ ખાતર કહી દવ કે આ બંને મહાનુભાવો એકબીજાને બિલકુલ પસંદ નહોતા કરતા. ખૂબ જ નફરત કરતા હોવા છતાં બંને ભેટી જાય છે. તેમજ પ્રધાનમંત્રી રબીનને ડિફેન્સ મિનિસ્ટર તરીકે સિમોન પેરેઝને રાખવા માટે દબાણ પણ કરવામાં આવ્યું હતું.

🔜 अँधेरे में किसी को नहीं पता नही चला कि वे दुश्मन देश का प्लेन था क्योंकि पैसेंजर प्लेनका कलर कर दिया था। विमान उतरने के तुरंत बाद, डोरोन और ताली यूनिट के कमांडोने कमान संभाली थी। विमान के रुकने के बाद मर्सिडीज बेंज और लैंड रोवर्स का एक काफिला गाड़ी से निकला और तेजी से आगे बढ़ने लगा। तीनों वाहन रनवे से पुराने टर्मिनल भवन की ओर बढ़ने लगे जहां बंधकों को रखा गया था। मर्सिडीज में ईदी अमीन के शरीर की जैसे दिखने वाले सियरेट मटकल फोर्स के नवगठित कमांडर योनाथन नेतन्याहू, मुकी बेत्जर, जिओरा जुसमैन और थोड़े दूसरे कमांडो छुपे हुए थे। वहाँ इजरायली सैनिकों की गलती थी कि ईदी अमीन ने थोड़े समय पहले ही ब्लैक मर्सिडीज की जगह सफेद मर्सिडीज का इस्तेमाल करना शुरू कर दिया था जो उन्हें नहीं पता था। हवाई अड्डे पर सैनिक भी असमंजस में थे कि वाहन ईदी का तो है नही लेकिन शायद उनमें कोई अन्य अधिकारियों होंगे। लेकिन कार अलग दिशा में क्यों जा रही है? जैसे ही वाहन पुराने टर्मिनल भवन से केवल १०० मीटर की दूरी पर था, युगांडा की सेना के दो जवान दौड़ते हुए वाहन के सामने आए और रुक गए। एक सिपाही तुरंत भाग गया, लेकिन दूसरे सैनिक ने तुरंत अपने हथियार से वाहन पर निशाना लगाया।  जब सिपाही ने अपना हथियार नीचे नहीं किया, तो योनाथन और जिओराने तुरंत अपनी हैंडगन पर लगे साइलेंसर पर उनका हाथ फेर दिया और फिर एके ४७ से उन पर फायर कर दिया।

🔜 गाड़िया अब पुराने टर्मिनल भवन से सिर्फ ३० मीटर की दूरी पर रुकती हैं। सियरेट मटकल के योद्धा बिजली की गति से वाहन से उतरते हैं और इमारत की ओर भागने लगते हैं। इसी बीच रास्ता रोक रहे युगांडा के एक सैनिक की गोली मारकर हत्या कर दी गई।  मुख्य द्वार बंद था उसे तोड़ने की प्रतीक्षा किए बिना ही जोनाथन नेतान्याहू, मुकी बेत्जर और उनके सहयोगियों दूसरे द्वार तक पहुंच गये। अधिकांश बंधक विशाल हॉल में सोए हुए थे। बाहर एक अपहरणकर्ता खड़ा था। ऐसी राइफलों की आवाज के कारण वह बाहर निकला था। सामने से सिपाही के आते ही वह अंदर भाग गया। उसने अपने साथी मित्र को बताया कि युगांडा के सैनिकों ने उन पर हमला किया। उत्साहित होकर वह दरवाजा बंद करना भूल गया था। नेतन्याहू के आदेश के बाद, सैनिकों ने टर्मिनलों पर धावा बोल दिया, जहां विशाल लाउंज में सब कुछ क्रम में था। नेतन्याहू ने दूसरे दरवाजे की ओर इशारा किया, जो थोड़ा खुला था। जैसे ही वे पास पहुंचे, इजरायली मशीनगनों से विस्फोट होने लगा। वहीं सभी यात्री सो रहे थे।

🔜 बायीं ओर खड़े अपहर्ता के पास राइफल थी लेकिन सैनिकों के द्वारा किए गए हमले की वजह से वो डर गया था। उसे मार डाला। जिन-जैक्स-मैमोनी नाम का एक 17 वर्षीय फ्रांसीसी व्यक्ति, जो इज़राइल में बस गया था, अचानक से सैनिकों पर हमला करने के लिए दौड़ा, लेकिन मुकी बेत्जर और उनके लोगों ने उसे आतंकवादी समझकर उस पर गोलियां चला दीं।  लेकिन वह निर्दोष था क्योंकि उसे लगा था कि ईदी ने उन लोगो को मारने के लिए अपनी सेना भेजी थी।  इसलिए वह आक्रमण करने गया था, परन्तु वह एक इज़रायली नागरिक था। शूटिंग में उनकी मौत हो गई।  जल्द ही एक और सैनिक ने अपने मूल हिब्रू में और अंग्रेजी में अपने पोर्टेबल मेगाफोन में घोषणा की कि यात्रियों को जमीन पर सोते रहे। वह इजरायली ही थे। एक अन्य ५२ वर्षीय यात्री, पास्को कोहेन भी कमांडो की गलतफहमी के परिणामस्वरूप पहले घायल हुआ और बाद में उसकी मृत्यु हो गई। तभी एक आतंकवादी लड़ने के लिए खड़ा हुआ और इजरायली सैनिकों ने राइफलों से उसके शरीर को छिन्नभिन्न कर दिया। ईदा बोरकोविच नाम की ५३ वर्षीय एक महिला को अपहर्ताओं ने मार डाला।

🔜 शेष पांच आतंकवादियों में से तीन को एक अन्य इजरायली कमांडो ने स्वर्ग में ७२ हूरोस के पास भेज दिया। अब केवल दो आतंकवादी ही बचे थे। एक युवक और एक युवती। उन्हें खोजें कैसे? तभी मशीनगनों की गर्जना हुई। वे बायीं ओर और दायीं ओर के दरवाजे से आए। उत्तेजना और भय के कारण दोनों लोग अपनी एक ४७ कि नोंक से बराबर निशाना ले भी नहीं पाए। तेंदुए जैसे स्फुर्तिले कमांडो दूसरा अवसर दे ऐसे भी नही थे। बाईं ओर दरवाजे पर युवती और दाईं ओर दरवाजे पर नाजी को उड़ा दिया गया।  बॉस नेतन्याहू का पहला हवाई जहाज ८६ सैनिकों के साथ उतरने के बाद, अन्य ३ हवाई जहाज भी ११:०८ तक उतर चुके थे। आरक्षित किए गए फैंटम जेट्स में से एक को सिनाई के ऑफिर में उतारा था। शायद पांच में से एक भी हवाई जहाज में समस्या आती तो वो हवाई जहाज रिज़र्व में रहे। ऐसा करने के बाद, सैनिको लैंड रोवर्स में सवार हो गए और अपनी-अपनी योजनाओं के अनुसार निर्धारित स्थानों की ओर बढ़ गए। कुछ सैनिकों ने एयरपोर्ट को ब्लॉक कर दिया ताकि ३३ किमी. दूर राजधानी कंपाला तक अगर हमले की खबर पहुंचती तो कार्रवाई से पहले ही उसकी कमर तोड़ दी जाये। कुछ सैनिक कंट्रोल टावर पर चढ़ गए। ऑपरेटरों को कोने में धकेल कर मशीनरी को चूर्णित कर दिया गया, टेलीफोन के तारों को काट दिया। यह सब इतनी तेजी से हुआ कि किसी को बताने का समय ही नहीं बचा।

🔜 वहां मौजूद किसी ने एंटेबी हवाई अड्डे से बिजली का कनेक्शन काट दिया और इजरायली सैनिकोने अपने साथ लाए ट्रांसमीटर को चालू कर दिया। हवा में मौजूद हरक्यूलिस के बाकी हवाई जहाज भी रनवे पर उतरे गए, जिसमें से कुछ अन्य सैनिक भी निकल गए। ठीक १० मिनट बाद, तुरंत ११:१० बजे, ब्रिगेडियर जनरल डान शोमरोनने अपने रेडियो पर से ही एंटेबी हवाई अड्डे से इजरायल के प्रधान मंत्री कार्यालय को एक संदेश भेजा, जिसमें कहा गया था, "सब कुछ ठीक है। वो बाद में रिपोर्ट करेंगे।" आठ मिनट बाद, शोमरोनने फिर से रेडियो पर एक संदेश दिया कि 'लो टाइड' उसका मतलब था कि सभी विमान हवाई अड्डे पर सुरक्षित रूप से उतर गए थे। उतने समय में तो इज़रायली योद्धाओं ने अपना तमाम काम कर दिया था।

🔜 आगे! इतनी दूर गए तो फिर हवाई जहाज की प्यास बुझाने की बारी थी। उसमे भी वे लोग पूर्व तैयारी करके ही गए थे। एंटेबी हवाई अड्डे पर ईंधन को परिष्कृत करना ही था। इसलिए वे एक राक्षसी ईंधन पंप ले गए थे। (उन लोगों का नियम मेरे जैसा ही था कि आप किसी भी चीज मुफ्त में न लें और अगर मिल जाए तो छोड़ना नहीं चाहिए।) अजनबी देश!  ४२०० किमी दूर। (कल्पना कीजिए, हम अपने घर से १ किमी दूर से भी कुछ नहीं ला सकते हैं।) ईंधन भी लक्ष्य और वह भी हवाई अड्डे का। ओ कहावत शायद वहीं से आई हो, ''इलाका चाहे भले ही किसीका हो, धमाका तो हमारा ही होगा.'' लेकिन कर्नल मातन विल्नाई और पहले हरक्यूलिस विमान के कर्नल शनि ने शोमरोन को सलाह दी कि जब तक कि वास्तव में आवश्यक न हो वे तब तक वहीं से निकलने के लिए देरी न करें। शोमरोन भी सहमत हो गए कि वे नैरोबी जाकर ही विमान में ईंधन भरेंगे।

🔜 इस हंगामे के बीच, एंटेबी हवाई अड्डे की रखवाली में व्यस्त युगांडा की सेना के बाकी लोग दहशत में जहां खड़े थे वहां से भाग गए। लगभग युगांडा के ५० सैनिक अभी भी छुपकर गोलीबारी कर रहे थे। इस ओर इजरायली कमांडो की भी फायरिंग जारी रखी।  ऐसे में यात्रियों को चौथे हवाई जहाज तक पहुचाए कैसे? परिस्थिति का निरीक्षण करने के लिए टर्मिनल से बाहर निकले नेतन्याहूने एक संदेश भेजा, जिसमें कहा गया था, "चौथे हवाई जहाज को टर्मिनल की तरफ ले जाया जाए।" तभी नियंत्रण टॉवर में छिपे युगांडा के एक सैनिकने नेतन्याहू की पीठ में गोली मार दी। मुखिया की मौत हो गई और वे जमीन पर गिर गए। जैसे ही आसपास के इजरायली सैनिकों ने वह सैनिक को देखा, उन्होंने तुरंत नियंत्रण टॉवर पर एक रॉकेट चालित ग्रेनेड फेंका और उसे मार डाला, नेतन्याहू को उठाके बिस्तर पर लिटा दिया और एक डॉक्टर को बुलाया। लेकिन घाव बहुत गंभीर था और 

उसका बहुत खून बह रहा था इसीलिए उसे विमान में ले जाया गया। 

🔜 दूसरी ओर चौथा विमान पुराने टर्मिनल की ओर आ गया। अंधेरे में यात्रियों को विमान में ले जाया गया। विस्मय और अति आत्मविश्वास से अभिभूत, इजरायली नागरिकों ने सैनिकों को गले लगाना, रोना या प्रार्थना करना, आभार और कृतज्ञता व्यक्त करना शुरू कर दिया, और तुरंत सैनिकों ने नागरिकों पर काबू पा लिया। अँधेरे में गिनने पर पता चला कि १०६ की जगह १०२ ही यात्री थे। उसमे चार यात्री कम थे।  ७४ साल की डोरा ब्लोच नाम की एक महिला भी लापता थी। बीमारी के चलते उन्हें कंपाला की एक अस्पताल में भर्ती कराना पड़ा था। उसका मरना तय था क्योंकि ईदी अमीन उसे मारने का ही आदेश देने वाला था। दूसरी ओर, गलतफहमी के चलते ३ यात्रियों की मौत हो गई। अंधेरे में ही घायल और मृत नागरिकों को भी हवाई जहाज में लाया गया।

🔜 रात के ११ बजे, ३२ मिनट पर तेल अवीव के नियंत्रण कक्ष के रेडियो पर एक कोडवर्ड सुनाई दिया। जिसे सुनने के लिए सभी के कान उत्सुक थे। कोडवर्ड था 'जेफरसन'। जिसका मतलब था कि गिनती शुरू हो गई थी। कुछ ही मिनट बाद रेडियो पर एक और संदेश आया, 'हर चीज को गलीला में ले जाओ'।  जिसका मतलब था कि सभी बंधक हरक्यूलिस विमान में सवार हो गए थे। मर्सिडीज और लैंड रोवर्स को भी विमान में वापस रख दिया गया। साथ ही बाकी सैनिक भी इस विशाल हवाई जहाज में बैठ गए।

🔜 यह सब हो जाने के बाद, एक पूर्व इजरायली सेना प्रमुख के बेटे उमर बार्लयेव और उनकी टीम ने टाइम बम से ११-११ युगांडा के मिग-१७ और मिग-२१ लड़ाकू जेट हवाई जहाज को चूर्णित कर दिया। इसके बाद चारो विमान सीधे आसमान में उड़ गए।

🔜 फिर रात ११ बजे ५१ मिनिट पर इजरायली नियंत्रण कक्ष के रेडियो पर एक अंतिम संदेश सुना गया 'माउंट कार्मेल'। जिसका अर्थ था कि प्रक्रिया पूरी हो गई थी। ऑपरेशन पूरा हो गया था। वे लोग वापस जा रहे थे और विमान ने उड़ान भी भर ली थी। इस प्रकार इस असंभव साहसिक कार्य को संभव बनाने का कार्य मात्र ५३ मिनट में पूरा हुआ !! इज़राइली नियंत्रण कक्ष में मौजूद रक्षा मंत्री सिमोन पेरेज़ और प्रधान मंत्री यित्ज़ाक रबिनने तुरंत एक-दूसरे को गले लगाया। आपकी जानकारी के लिए बता दे कि ये दोनों गणमान्य व्यक्ति एक दूसरे को बिल्कुल भी पसंद नहीं करते थे। बेहद नफरत के बावजूद दोनों गले मिले थे। सिमोन पेरेज़ को रक्षा मंत्री बनाने के लिए प्रधानमंत्री रबिन पर दबाव भी डाला गया था।

But why was the car going in a different direction? As the vehicle was only 100 meters away from the old terminal building, two Ugandan Army soldiers appeared and stopped in front of the running vehicle. 🔜 After all this was done, Omer Bar-lev, the son of the former Chief of Staff of the Israeli Army, and his team bombed Uganda's 11 MiG-17 and MiG-21 fighter jets with a time bomb, as planned before the troops boarded the plane. The four planes then flew straight into the sky, crashing into the runway.

🔜 Then at 11:51 p.m., one last message came on the radio of the Israeli control room, ‘Mount Carmel'. It meant the end of the evacuation. The operation was completed and all the planes had taken off to come back. Thus those warriors completed the task of making this impossible venture possible in just 53 minutes !! Defense Minister Simon Peres and Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, who were in the Israeli control room, immediately embraced each other.
